COMPETITION DESCRIPTIONS
-

SPRINT
Time is of the essence! In the Sprint athletes are racing against the clock in a time trial, starting at 30-second intervals. Three loops are skied with two shooting stages in between (prone and prone). Each missed target requires a 100 or 150m penalty loop.
-

INDIVIDUAL
Biathlon’s traditional competition! Competitors ski 5 loops with 4 shooting stages (all prone). Instead of completing a penalty loop for each missed shot before starting the next lap, a 60 second time penalty is added to the finishing time. More than any other discipline, the individual competition rewards precision.

SPRINT PURSUIT
The Chase is on! This competition is always full of big moves and sudden drama. 3 laps and 2 shooting stages (all prone) and 75m penalty loop for each missed shot (15 second penalty during qualifications). The first to cross the finish line is the winner
